According to the book George Wisecarver was the brother of Joseph Wisecarver who married Rachel Hibbs. One of John and Margaret Renner Orndorffs sons was William, (1800-1885). At pages 34-35 the book tells the story of William's "daring trip" in 1826 from Frederick County to Greene County "to visit with his half-sister, Catherine, Mrs. George Wisecarver." William was pleased enough with Greene County that he decided to stay and marry Salome Wisecarver, a daughter of Joseph Wisecarver and Rachel Hibbs Wisecarver. The book says (p. 34) that "George Wisecarver was a brother of Joseph Wisecarver who became my grandfather Wiiliam Orndorffs father-in-law..." I have seen some speculation that George was an uncle to Joseph, and I wanted to alert people to this information. I believe I have also seen information that Jacob Renner"s wife Barbara Wisecarver was a sister of Joseph. Thus, Joseph, Barbara, and George would all appear to be the children of John Wisecarver and Salome Snapp.....boards from R. W. Renner genealogy.com
