THESE PRESENTS ATTEST, THAT in accordance with the proclamation of the President of the United States, and in compliance with law, JAMES HENRY WYSCAVER, EDMOND, NORTON, KANSAS has submitted himself to registration and has by me been duly registered the 12 day of Sept. 1918 under the supervision of the Local Board designated on the back hereof. Mr. J. H. Wyscaver,
Edmond, Kansas
Dear Mr.Wyscaver;
Have settled the pending suit of Isaac Wyscaver against the estate of Sarah Wyscaver, deceased, in which settlement Issac withdraws his claim entirely against said estate and receipts the probate court docket against said claim and agrees to pay the Citizens state Bank, the note on which Sarah Wyscaver appears as joint maker, thus protecting the other heirs in the estate against said note.
In consideration of which, I have allowed his rent to the property where he now lives and permit him to stay there for the present year, subject to sale of said property either by joint agreement of the heirs or by order of court.
Both the attorneys, Buck and Brubaker and myself think the above settlement is by far the best disposition
of the pending suit and hope it is satisfactory to the heirs.
Yours truly,
WB/EE George S. Aldrich, ADM.

The whole family had left Kansas because of "The Great Depression", everyone was looking for work somewhere besides the farms.
Lura and Arron and Nora and Leisl were already in Colorado, when Grandma and Grandad came for a visit, Ruby remembers they were all ready, in the car, to go to Pikes's Peak and to City Park, when Grandad had a stroke. Of course, they couldn't go and the kids were so disappointed. Grandad never returned to Kansas, he and Grandma stayed in Denver in the small house that Jack and Loreen had, this was Aug. 1938.
.....Ruby Fitch Graeb
Jack went back to Kansas and brought them back, Leighton, and Fern who had just graduated from high school--1938. Fern was the first of the kids to graduate from high school. Jim stayed in Kansas and kept the farm running, until Grandad and Grandma decided to lease it out.
Grandad and Grandma stayed in Denver until he was well enough and then Jack bought a house in Hudson for them.
